A drink for all
There is no doubt that when it comes to alcoholic beverages, beer is a universal drink that brings people together. They drink it at parties, sporting events, concerts, and even dinners and family events.
Beer has been around forever, and for the most part, it has stayed the same. Although there are different types of beer, most have not strayed from just making no-frills beer that is basic and pleases the masses.
A new page
However, in the past twenty years, there have been some brewers who have decided that just making the same kind of lager or light beer is not enough. Additionally, many have gotten tired of the same giant beer companies making the same old beer as their parents drank. As a result, a good number of microbreweries have recently emerged to put a new face to beer.
And they have. Now, beer has become elevated to an almost wine-like status. There are now many different flavors and nuances that you can find in beer. Microbrewers take pride in the thought and care that goes into their beers. Hence, a new term has surfaced in our midst: craft beer. Now, consumers far and wide enjoy grabbing a six-pack of their favorite craft beer and showing it to their friends.
Craft beer in my life
I’ve been a fan of craft beer for a while now, and there are many different kinds of craft beers that I enjoy. The following list is just a sampling of the beers that I enjoy. Please note that while I love all the beers that are listed, I think that there are definitely specific occasions for each of these beers.
Craft beers I like
Bell’s Two Hearted Ale
This beer may be one of the best all around beers of all time. It’s a well-balanced India Pale Ale that has a sharp, refreshing taste sip after sip. It is a great craft beer appropriate for all occasions.
Shorts Soft Parade
This is a beer that has a robust, fruity flavor and also boasts a high alcohol content. I like to drink Soft Parade on fall days when it’s time to enjoy the fruits of the earth and be merry.
A new frontier
While I absolutely love craft beer, a new alcoholic beverage has appeared on my horizon. A few months ago, a friend told me to try drinking some hard cider, and I reluctantly put down my glass of craft beer and obliged. I have no regrets. Having this sweet apple beverage was like a breath of fresh air to me. The sweet, crisp flavor paired with a tingly carbonated feeling made me think I was at some orchard in the Midwest sampling some delicious Honey Crisp apples in a fall breeze.
One of the hard ciders that I’ve been getting into a lot lately is Blake’s hard cider. I love the taste and the feel, and I find myself reaching for it almost as much as Bell’s Two Hearted!
